High Conversion Keyword Brainstorming

We get some inquiry from advertisers who struggle to come up with keyword ideas for websites. If you want to come up with profitable ideas, you first need to understand what type of site you’re going to be setting up. Since the easiest sites to rank are informational sites, you need to grasp that any keyword can be turned into an informational article. For example, let’s take the keyword ‘weight loss’.

You may think that in order to get ranked in Google for a keyword like this you would have to sell cell phones. This definitely isn’t the case; in fact right now one of the pages that ranks in the top 10 in Google for this keyword is a simple informational article that explains how cell phones work. Any keyword can be turned into an informational article that can be placed on a web page.

Knowing that any keyword can be turned into a simple webpage opens the floodgates and lets us know that virtually anything that’s searched for can be turned into free search traffic with an article that’s on topic.

This doesn’t mean that you have to use informational pages to take advantage of the strategies in this book. On the contrary – you could use these techniques to sell products or to get people to opt-in to your
marketing list if that fits your business goals.

What Is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization”, and it is essentially the process of preparing and promoting your website for the search engines. Whenever someone wants to find something on the internet, they use a search engine. The
search engines have an incredible task, they need to find relevant results for searches that people perform.

Optimizing your site means that you are spending time getting it ready to it will hopefully rank in the search engines. This will bring traffic to your website.

Why You Should Optimize Your Word press Blog?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is very important if you ever want to gain decent rankings in the search engine. Even though the word “SEO” can sound terribly intimidating, actually applying it to your blog is no where near as hard as it sounds. All you have to do is invest some initial time into learning the basics, and soon your blog will be better than 90% of the others out there, simply because you have SEO.

Here are just a few of the many reasons why SEO for WordPress is so important:

- SEO is actually pretty easy to do

- Most people don’t bother to do it.

- Keyword research can play a big part in increasing your natural search engine rankings.

- Bottom Line: The results far outweigh the time required to do SEO.

The Basics Of On-Page Optimization

Before we go any further, I would like to review with you the basic principles of on-page optimization. As we move forward in the videos, I will be applying each of these (along with many more advanced concepts) to a blog.

Here are the step of SEO

- Keyword Research

- Actual Page Name

- Title Tags

- Meta Tags

- Header Tags

- Bold, Italics, Underlining

- Keyword Usage

- Proper Link Structure

Optimizing Your Permalink Structure

This is one of the most important things you should do to properly SEO your blog.

Even though WordPress is a great piece of software, it is not initially optimized for SEO. Let’s say for example, that you create a post entitled “Potty Dog Training Tips”. By default it would look something like this:
Myblog.com/?p=3
That isn’t very descriptive at all, is it! By making a simple change to something called the permalink structure, we can make it look like this automatically:
Myblog.com/potty-dog-training-tips

A lot better eh?
Changing the permalink structure is pretty easy, you just need to go to the settings section of your blog, and click on “Permalinks”. Make sure that you enter this as your custom link:
/%category%/%postname%/

Once this information is saved, your blog will generate some code that you need to stick into your .htaccess file. You can do this through ftp or a program like file manager through your cpanel.

Overview Of An Optimized Post

Before we go any further, I would like to outline the basics of what go into creating an optimized post or page:

- Title

-Importance of header tags

- Italics, bold, underlining

- Good content

- Keyword tags

- Optimized Images

Find The Profit Keywords Less Than 3 Minutes

Almost all the information and tools created around finding good keywords to rank high for in Google, is based on speculation.

We have learned that if we have the keyword in our domain name, in the title, context, and in anchor text, we will rank high in the search result on Google. Especially if we also have relevant links from other
websites pointing back to our website.

Therefore, we analyze, and search for keywords based on these criteria. This is probably a correct conclusion, but we do not know this with certainty. It may therefore, be a waste of time searching for keywords where we see that other webmasters and marketers haven’t been good enough to optimize their websites within these criteria.

In cases where we have no other option, this is the way to do a keyword search, until otherwise proven.

I personally, do not like to base my time and my income on speculation, and you shouldn’t either.

In my opinion, there is only one truth, written in stone, when it comes to determining keywords that it is easy to rank high for with Google.

If you can find keywords where you see that Google has ranked articles from articles directories or other context from Web 2.0 sites, among the 10 first search results, then the keyword probably is easy
to rank for.

If an article, submitted to a 3 part website around a subject is all it takes for Google to present it at their 1 page result, it probably means that Google do not find enough relevant information to present to
their users, at this moment.

Our goal is also to determine those keyword phrases with highly search volume and low real competition, so we can rank our content inside the first 10 result in Google, for free.

Tools We Will Use.

The tools we will use are web pages that we all are familiar with. It is the combination, and the approach to them that will probably be new to you.

We will be using.

1. Alexa (Primary tool)
2. Articles directories and 2.0 websites (Primary tool)
3. Google (Primary tool)
4. The Google’s keyword tool (Sublimental tool)

Alexa

We know Alexa as a website that publishes data on how much traffic a website receives. They rank web pages according to a scale were as a lower score a website has, the more traffic this website receives.
Alexa’s way of ranking a page, is that they rank websites with a system, where their highest score is 1. If a website has an Alexa ranking of 1, it means that the website is among the mostly visited website on the net.

We will use Alexa to find keywords that have a lot of traffic.

Alexa has, in fact, a feature where you can see what keywords that drive most traffic to the website they have analyzed.

Articles directories and 2.0 websites

Most of us know about the various Article’s directories like Ezinearticles, Goarticles etc.

We use those directories as places where we submit our articles so other webmaster can pick them up and by this, we will spread our articles, and expose our website to so many people as human
possible.

We also use Article’s directories to retrieve relevant articles which we can use on our own websites.

We use web 2.0 sites like Facebook, Squdoo, Hub, and other social sites as places where we can directly communicate with like-minded people.

What we almost never think about is that these websites are user-driven. This mean that it is we, as users, who are giving this website’s content, and it is also we, the users, who decide what topic is most popular.

Since the majority of users are marketers, especially those who submit articles to Article’s directories, the content in those websites is also highly market-oriented.

Google

I will not insult your intelligence telling you how to use Google.com as a search tool.

We will use Google to make sure that those keywords and keyword phrases collected from Alexa still contain articles and pages from articles directories and web 2.0 websites among the first 10 search result in Google.

We also want to see if there are Adsense ads on the right side of Google search results, proving that this is a marked oriented keyword.

Google Keyword Tool

We do not have to use this tool at all, because Alexa is telling us that this keyword has a lot of traffic.

You can use it if you want to, just to make sure that this keyword generates traffic.

When you use Google Keyword Tool, make sure that you use the “exact match” feature so you find the search volume for that keyword, as is, and not as a part of a longer keyword phrase.

I will use GKT in my 3 case study, as evidence of traffic.

The Google’s keyword tool is not 100% adequate when it comes to how many searches there is for a keyword or keyword phrase.

Don’t hang yourself up in those numbers, because Alexa has already told us that those keywords are responsible for the majority of the traffic to the website, so we know that those keywords are generating traffic.

You can also use other keyword tools as “Wordtracker” and similar tools that give out search volume for specific keyword phrases instead of Google Keyword tool.

Misspelled Keyword Strategy To Lower Your Competition

Some advertisers complain with us that the bid prices of some popular keywords are higher than others. We understand that this issue occurs in keyword targeting ad network including Hooqy. When keywords yield high conversion rates, the advertisers are willing to bid higher. As a result, the bid price is controlled by the market, not by the ad networks.

To bid keywords at lower cost, we suggest our advertisers to use misspelled keyword strategy. You can use misspelled search terms and keywords that can be spelled in a number of ways, such as geographically different UK and US spellings. These terms, while highly searched, may not be used for many advertisers and therefore give your campaign a competitive edge.

Wrong spelling in Internet search is a pretty common thing in the internet. Bidding for misspelled keywords make sense if you want to lower the price and get the same impression of spelled keywords. As you know, PPC and PPV advertising charge you a certain amount per click/per view and this amount varies depending on the competition among advertisers for certain keywords. For example, if Hooqy may charge your $10 for the keyword ‘diabetes’, the bid for its misspelled alternative will be a lot cheaper (something like $2 or so per click).

This is an excellent mechanism to tap into a percentage of search users who make typos at a lower cost.

Some advertisers will question us whether misspelled keywords are really useful or not. Although English is a global language, the number of people who claim English as their first language is still a small percentage of total Internet users. According to statistics, hardly 8% of the world population use English as their first language. According to our research, there is 32% lead generation which are converted by misspelled keywords.

Misspelled keywords can be useful and allow your campaign to:

1. Target visitors that are commonly misspelled, for instance ‘camra’ instead of ‘camera’
2. Get good traffic from profitable popular search terms that have low levels of competition
3. Capture regional spelling variations, eg. both UK and US spellings of words such as ‘optimisation’ (’optimization’)

What Google Really Cares About

So what does the mammoth search engine Google really care about? This is a very important question if you plan to get traffic from the largest search engine.

In a nutshell, they care about giving visitors the best search results possible. This ensures people keep using Google and makes Google wealthy.

But how does Google determine which sites have quality information and which sites don’t?

While Google’s algorithm is constantly being refined there are a few things that stay pretty consistent.

Thanks to the Google Toolbar, Google Analytics, and Google AdSense they are able to track visitors’ behavior on almost every website on the Internet.

They track how long the average visitor stays on a given website. The longer a visitor stays, the better the content must be.

They track how many pages the average visitor visits before leaving. Again, the more pages the better unless the visitor went to many pages in a very short amount of time. This would indicate that the visitor couldn’t find what they were looking for or the content didn’t capture the visitor’s interest.

Google also tracks bounces. A bounce is where a visitor leaves a site after visiting only 1 page.

Too many bounces are harmful to site’s rank in Google. Google records your IP address when you visit a site and therefore can tell when you return to the site. Google keeps close tabs on return visitors. Return visitors are a major indicator that the site has useful and relevant content that is most likely updated regularly.

Some of the sites with the biggest number of return visitors are news related sites like digg.com, cnn.com, or social sites like facebook.com, myspace.com, etc.

Google also favors site’s that have information added to them on a continuing basis.

People have known this for a while and in some cases have tried to keep their website updated regularly by putting up content that was copied from another site. In response to this Google has developed a duplicate content filter which does a pretty good job at determining if content is unique or if it was copied from another site. If content has been copied to several sites Google can usually determine which first site first posted the content and will frequently ignore the sites that copied the content.

So the morale of the story is this: If you want to rank high in Google and get traffic then make a site that has useful information not copied from somewhere else. Give people a reason to stay at your site and look around. Give people a reason to come back. In short, provide visitors with something of value. The more value you provide, the higher you rank.

Pagerank 7 in 200 days

CREATING A SITE OF MASSIVE INFLUENCE

1. Raid a few webhosts that allows you to buy domains on cheap. I’d recommend godaddy.com or doteasy.com Purchase at least 40 domains across dierent C Class IPs. The .info , .mobi and .biz variety go for a dime a dozen. Register them and build up a single page on each one. Fill the pages with quality content. No scraped info or you’ll get deindexed. Your bucks would go down the drain faster than cash at a casino. Hire a ghostwriter if you must.

2. Create backlinks to each of these sites from domains that wield extremely high pagerank. It’s easy to accomplish with Netscape.com and NewsVine.com. Now before you get all excited, understand that this tactic will work if you judiciously pick protable tags. The tag business ranks a whopper of a pagerank 7 at netscape. (http://www.netscape.com/tag/business). Listing your 40 domains under this directory gets a pagerank 7 backlink!

3. Amp the power. List your domains at DMOZ and Relmaxtop.com . You’ll garner at least a Pagerank 4 backlink to each site.

4. Post meaningful comments on one or two blogs listed here: courtneytuttle.com/blogs-that-follow/ These blogs have the NoFollow attribute disabled, allowing you to suck in more PR to each of your domains.

5. Post meaningful comments on mattcuts.com, pearsonied.com and scobleizer.com. Google ranks these sites at pagerank 8+. If your sensible comment is approved, you get more rank boosting.

6. Use this string in google search box to nd high credibility .edu blogs where you can get quick backlinks from: [[site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "Your-Key-Word"]] If your link appears on a .edu domain, Google accords your mucho respect. In spades. Ensure you write MEANINGFUL comments on these .edu sites, or I’ll disown you and send the Italian Maa to kick your arse and sink you in the Ganges.

7. Wait for the next PageRank update. Twiddle your thumbs and get fat on some MacDonalds quarterpounders to pass the time.

8. Et Voila! After the next update, the Google Toolbar will indicate that ALL your 40 sites have achieved a shiny PageRank 3 or 4. Man, wasn’t that easy?? (FYI, google updates pagerank every three months or so)

9. Now that your sites wield considerable persuasive inuence, I want you to create three new domains and have all original 40 sites link to these.

10. Wait for the next pagerank update and BAM! The three new domains now ex a Pagerank 5!. Hallelujah!! But wait. You don’t want a lousy 5. You want at least a seven. So what you do is to create two new domains and have the three pagerank 5s link to that.

11. Wait again. (do you get the pattern here?) Suck on some fries. Get more girlfriends. Take up racing. Then at the next pagerank update, the Google Tool Bar will bring you news that will wet your pants: GOODGRACIOUSGLORIOUSGOD! The two new domains are now Pagerank 6!! Wait. Were not done yet. I want you to create a new domain. And guess what? I want you to link the two pagerank 6 sites to your new domain.

12. Wait again. Nuninuninu. By now you should have 10 girlfriends and boast a nice paunch from all those quarterpounders. But so what? After the next pagerank update, your new domain should now be a gloriously persuasive Pagerank 7. Ahh. Now you can kick back and relax. Because with this single website, any other website you link to will be transformed into an instant Pagerank 6. Everyone knows that sites these stellar command unbelievable advertising power. So what you do from here well, it’s up to your imagination.

SEO Sitemaps Give Websites a Boost

A lot of web pages will find an SEO sitemap useful in improving their performance. SEO stands for search Engine Optimization the process that aims to create or revise Internet sites so that it can be better found by search engines. The objective of SEO campaigns is to have websites appear in the top listing or first results page of search engines.

Internet search engines, such as Google and Yahoo, maintain a very large database of Web pages and available files. To do this, they devise a program called a web crawler, or spider. This software automatically and continuously surfs and hunts content in the Web. Pages that the spider finds are retrieved and indexed according to text content, giving more weight to titles and paragraph headers. Spiders never stop navigating the web from page to page, to index the relevant content of the Internet. Besides looking at the text of titles and headers, some programs are able to identify default tags and keep a library of these page keywords or key phrases in the index.

When a user connects to the Internet types a query, which is automatically interpreted as keywords, the search engine scans the saved index and creates a list of web pages that is most appropriate to what the user is searching for.

SEO will use all the combined techniques of keyword analysis, smart code, good content literature, link popularity study and website organization to place the subject web page as high as possible in the list of search results in search engines. Web pages displayed on the top of results pages are assumed to get the most attention, and therefore, opportunity for earnings for web businesses and pages with sponsor links.

Search engines usually return a list of results ranking pages according to the number of Internet sites linked to them. Results can be classified as organic, or sponsored links. Sponsored links are shown prominently because their creators or agents paid the search engine. Sponsored links are the main source of income of search engines. Organic search results are the lists of actual results from the engines index and are directly related to the keyword typed in the request.

One of the more effective techniques of SEO is the creation of a well-organized site map in a website. Since the site main page and other content are directly linked to a site map, spiders can more easily move through the website, identify the key words of the content, and index these for a search engine. This is where the SEO sitemap helps the website creator or administrator.

Site maps are usually pages filled with links. These are shown as tables or lists, although lists are generally more effective. Writing code for SEO sitemaps is very easy and simple to format and maintain. These are ideally basic HTML pages with default tags, logical titles and keywords scattered in the Meta description. Introduction areas can contain more of the keywords. The site should have a main heading for every directory.

A simple list layout helps reduce unnecessary tags. Some spiders give more weight to the following, than text in the normal body of the webpage: heading text, content within link elements, text nearer the top of the page and the text written for a link. Therefore, writing the keywords and links in these areas could somehow move up the web page ranking. This goes for SEO sitemaps as well.

Web sites should be designed consistently, so navigation models should follow the flow of the site map. Therefore, the first section in the site map should be the first link in the navigation bar.

In an SEO Sitemap, and most pages, the headings contain title attributes where more key phrases in the site map can be added. Keywords are generally well chosen and written in the body of a webpage. However, in an SEO site map with little text, key words should be added as much as possible. As much as possible, web links should follow web page titles, and must undergo SEO during coding. Care must be exercised not to cram the page with keywords and links, or the page will be interpreted as blatant spamming and not receive any traffic at all.

There is no way to guarantee that a website will be shown in the topmost ranking of “organic” search results for an extended period of time. However, smart and responsible SEO sitemap techniques can be used to place the website high up in the search position. Regular monitoring and adjustment of the SEO Sitemap and search results would ensure that a website is kept near the top ranking and receiving lots of web user traffic.

PPC Advertising for Maximum Web Promotion

Engaging in pay-per-click (PPC) advertising has its own benefits and drawbacks. But what exactly is PPC advertising and what it can do to your business?

Business nowadays is doing different kinds of austerity measures when it comes to advertising their products and services. This is because of high rates of placing ads on print and on television. But there is a fast growing approach that businessmen can utilize to bring their services closer to the people and that is through Internet Marketing.

One tool that is causing internet marketing popularity is PPC advertising. This is a technique used in search engine marketing that requires one to pay a fee every time someone clicks an ad on your website. Usually this placement is done through a bidding process. If you are a top bidder for your keywords/phrases, you are sure to be on the number one spot on all search engines. Just be sure of the effectiveness of your ad copy to get the most number of clicks you need for your business.

Here are the benefits of PPC advertising are:

1. You need not be a genius in computer and technology to be able to run this ad campaign.
2. Immediate results are seen after a few days.
3. No need to make a website conform to the SEO rules.
4. Nothing to lose even if you do not top the pages of different search engines. You can still always choose PPC advertising.
5. You can make use any search engine available.
6. You can type in any keyword you like.

Cons of PPC advertising includes:

1. Fixed payments every month to the search engine you choose.
2. Pay for each click received by your website. At times, visitors are just competitors or people playing pranks on search engines. This hassle wastes money you put in to this advertising.
3. Inability to pay for the fees next month would mean removal of your website on the paid listings.
4. This advertising can only be used temporarily because it is difficult to handle in the long run.
5. Pay-per-click pricing can be costly for long periods of time, therefore, this should be stopped after an ad campaign.

But how exactly PPC advertising can increase traffic, leads and sales?

PRE-QUALIFIED TRAFFIC. All visitors of your website are already considered as a qualified consumer or buyer of your product. PPC advertising leads your customers to you for a lesser cost.

INSTANT EXPOSURE, IMMEDIATE PROFITS. PPC search engines enable you to get your desired results fast. They will have your website live within just a few hours which means immediate increase in sale.

CONSISTENT TOP LISTINGS. This is to get your website on top of the sponsored search results for free. You just have to choose the keywords related to your site and business and place them within your web pages. After this, you are done.

PPC advertising enables advertisers to control their advertising campaigns. Advertisers have effectively targeted their audience and set their own price per click. PPC advertising networks provide the platform to identify the desired audience by geographic setting, topic and industry. These networks have a list of websites of the publishers where the ads will be placed.

Tools are provided by the networks to check how the pay per click limit is working for a certain advertiser. If its still competitive, would it be even listed among the paid search lists or does it generate sales? Of course, if the advertiser made the highest bid, the better chances the ad will be seen in the search engine. These networks too provide protection for the advertisers against click fraud. This advertising set-up allows advertisers to set a daily budget for his ads, thus, less spending for unnecessary clicks. Advertiser will never go over his budget.

In PPC advertising, what are important are the keywords and phrases. You have to select at least ten “very specific” keywords that would give you the best traffic in the search. Then, write the ad creatively but straightforward. Tell the truth about your product or service and do not lie. Good thing if your product or service will not disappoint those that are relying on your ad’s promise – but what if it did otherwise? Important too is the clarity of the ad. Do not use very vague languages. Include important details like the price.

You should also remember to budget your bids. Do not go overbidding because you will only lose your money and do not go so low that your ads will never get the chance to show up. Check your profit against your spending. If you see no progress then most likely you have to drop your ad campaign.

PPC advertising is new in online marketing and it is going to continue in the years to come. For advertisers, this means increase revenues with fewer advertising expenses, savings, more sales, good return of investment (ROI) and effective ad campaigns in the days to come.

Using Ping-o-Matic to index your websites

This is the best method so far to get indexed by the search engines really fast. Sometimes this trick can make your blog and website listed just in 23 hours! (This is the result of one friend of mine).

I never really counted the time but all I know, with this little trick you will get indexed by all major search engines really fast!
Now I want to put your attention on this amazing website called Ping-o-Matic.

We need to ping your blog to notify all major search engines about your changes made to the blog. This is 1st time we will ping your blog so, basically it will notify search engines about the creation of your blog.

The magic of this method is that there is a lot of chances you static website will be indexed along with the blog since the blog is a subdomain of the static website. In most of cases the domain and subdomain will get listed straight in a row, so if your main domain is #4th , then your blog will be at the #5th spot.

Now you see the whole power of this system? I can tell you this is so powerful that sometimes you don’t even have to mess about building backlinks. Especially you don’t want to waste your time building tons of backlings from not relevant blogs with low page rank.

The important bit you have to keep in mind is that you have to build content on your main website before ping-ing your blog which is placed on the sub-domain. One more thing you can make is to install wordpress blog on to the one of your secondary pages and use Ping-o-Matic to ping this page. For example blog.your_main_domain.com.

Now go to the http://pingomatic.com/, fill in these columns. In “blog name” box you need to put your blogs name, this was your main keyword either some phrase containing your main keyword.

Second thing is URL of your blog, just put the domain of your blog.

ping o matic
